Tribe’s top tips to becoming an awesome Personal Trainer
Recently, Mark was invited to have a chat to the students at Loftus Tafe. Something he does regularly throughout the year, to catch up with students who are at varying stages of their studies in Cert III & IV in fitness.
He’s there for a few reasons. Having handpicked some awesome trainers in previous years it’s always great to go and meet the fresh meat (so to speak) of the industry but also as an opportunity to give back. To influence and guide those early on in their career and provide some really valuable lessons based on his – dare we say it – 25 years in the industry. Gosh time flies. We would also never miss a window to showcase all that Tribe has to offer to perhaps entice them to join us once their studies are complete.
It ended up being pretty timely given all that’s going on in the world and the impact Coronavirus has had on the fitness industry. And although we won’t ever have full control over it, Mark shared his approach to how Tribe has stayed on the front foot during these challenging times. And eased some worried minds as to their future within the industry.
As always, the evening consisted of heaps of questions from keen students. They were encouraged to ask questions that Mark answered with his usual spunk and passion for his business and the industry. But we know, not all of you lucky humans were there to get the inside scoop on just what it takes to make it in the big leagues. So we’ve broken it down into these three very important points;
- Continue learning – Never stop, be a sponge for knowledge because those clients of yours will be forever asking questions. Be the person who can answer them.
- Find a mentor. Surround yourself with people who do it much better than you do. Learn from them. Challenge yourself.
- If you don’t wake up each morning wanting to strip fat off humans – quit now.
At Tribe we do these things not just to give back and to educate, but because we are always on the lookout for great people. We know that great people make great businesses. We employ trainers who are resilient, passionate about helping people, who go the extra mile and who have an abundance of energy – because that’s what makes our gym like no other.
So if you’re reading this thinking hell yeah, I want to strip fat off humans. I want to make people happy by getting them shredded, well you should definitely send Mark an email firstname.lastname@example.org – he would love to chat.
