Britt is 17 kilos lighter and loving life

I was pretty active when I was young, but I was always overweight.  When I was 7, I started playing soccer and by 13, I made the representative team.

When I was in year 5, mum took me to Weight Watchers to learn what to eat and what not to eat. I lost weight and maintained it as I was active with my rep soccer.  When I was 13, mum and dad got divorced.  I blame this for my emotional eating.  I’ve always been a yo-yo dieter, cycling through putting weight on and then eating fruit and vegies to lose weight.   My father is also a very large man and I guess it’s a case of monkey see, monkey do.  He is also a yo-yo dieter.

A close friend, Christelle, encouraged me to do the trial at Tribe. She is a member of Tribe and had witness  my weight yo-yoing.  The Trial is a great way to experience Tribe as you receive Personal Training, small group training, full access to all classes and Inbody scans.  My trainer is Dani and she is awesome! When I first started, Dani asked me some really great questions with the most powerful being ‘what is your why?’.  For me, my why (my reason to want to be at my best), is to live a normal and balanced life (balance is key), to be happy again, to fit into my clothes and to do something for me as I’m always giving and helping others.

After the Trial, I joined Tribe and as a result, I’m 17 kilos lighter!  And, I’ll have that ‘20kg down’ key tag after this challenge…#goals.  I love Tribe.  I’m a far happier person.  Before Tribe, I was a very closed person.  I’d go to work and come straight home and eat.  Now, I’ve met great friends at Tribe and I’m far more social, I’m not tired and I love training, especially weight training as I see my body changing and I’m getting much stronger.  I’ve been really surprised with my weight training.  It allows me to really challenge myself and push myself.  It’s pretty cool to prove to yourself that you can do something.  What’s not to love about being a strong independent woman!

What I love about Tribe is the atmosphere.  The trainers all know your name (even when you don’t train with them, they still greet you and take the time to talk to you). Tribe isn’t a large franchised gym, so it personable and friendly.

This speaks volumes about Tribe.  For the past 10 years, I’ve volunteered and financially supported a Fijian family.  When I completed my uni-degree, my intention was to move to Fiji.  But now, I actually miss my training and Tribe when I’m away and I love being in Australia because of Tribe, the people and my training.  Suffice to say, I’m not going anywhere!
